Comprehensive Cusco Adventure: City Tour, Machu Picchu, and Natural Wonders

Your trip to Cusco begins with a city tour of the Qoricancha Temple and nearby archaeological sites including Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay. On Day 2, explore Chinchero, Moray’s circular terraces, and the Salineras de Maras before enjoying lunch in Urubamba and continuing to Ollantaytambo, where you’ll take a train to Aguas Calientes. Day 3 is dedicated to a guided tour of Machu Picchu, followed by free time before returning to Cusco. On Day 4, hike to the Humantay Lagoon after breakfast in Mollepata, returning to Cusco by evening. Day 5 features an early start for a hike to the Montaña de Colores (Vinicunca), with scenic views and photo opportunities, ending with a return to Cusco. Finally, on Day 6, you’ll be transferred to Cusco Airport for your departure, concluding your unforgettable journey.

Tour of the City and Archaeological Sites

Your exciting trip to Cusco begins with your arrival at Velasco Astete International Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

At 13:00 hours, our city tour will begin. We will begin by visiting the impressive Qoricancha Temple, which represents the fascinating fusion of Inca and colonial architecture. Then, we will drive to the fascinating archaeological sites nearby.

Our first stop will be Sacsayhuaman, famous for its enormous polished and molded stones, and its strategic location that offers spectacular panoramic views of Cusco. We will continue to Qenqo, an ancient Inca temple where religious sacrifices were performed. Then, we will explore Puka Pukara, a control and military center of the Incas. Finally, we will visit the enigmatic Tambomachay Temple, known for its water fountains.

We will return to the hotel around 6:30 p.m. to spend the night in Cusco.

Sacred valley

The tour begins with the pick up of the group at 6:30 am, we will go to our first point to visit Chinchero, we will visit its traditional market and the archaeological center. There, we will be able to observe the impressive Inca architecture, the cultivation areas, we will admire the incredible agricultural terraces, there, we will spend about 1 hour, exploring this Inca citadel.

Next, we will visit the archaeological site of Moray, also known as “The greenhouses of the Incas”. It consists of an evolving bowl of ecological terraces. The terraces are carved out of a huge basin, which were excavated by the Incas for agricultural purposes. The terraces have varied microclimates depending on the depth of the basin. It is believed that the Incas used them to discover the ideal growing conditions for their different crops. We will also visit the salt mines known as SALINERAS DE MARAS. This place was of great importance in the PRE INKA – INKA- COLONIAL times and nowadays. The inhabitants of the village benefit from the salt extracted from these mines.

We will continue our tour heading to the village of urubanba where we will have a delicious lunch (buffet) finally we will arrive to Ollantaytambo, having time to explore the ancient and bustling Inca town next to the huge Inca ruins, with a tour provided by our guide. We will then take the train to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a hotel.

Machu Picchu

1 hour before our entrance time to Machu Picchu you will be assisted by our staff who will drive you to the bus station to board the bus that will take us to the Inca City of Machu Picchu (a 25 minute ride). You will spend approximately 2 hours exploring this world wonder in the company of our guide, who will show you the sacred square, the temple of the three windows, the Intihuatana, the temple of the Sun, the house of the Priests, the Inca baths, among others.

Once the tour is over, you will have free time to enjoy lunch on your own before boarding the train back to Cusco. You should be at the train station 30 minutes before the time indicated on your ticket. Then, you will board the train that will take you back to Ollantaytambo, where you will be picked up by our bus that will take you back to the city of Cusco.

Humantay Lake

This day starts early, at 04:30 am. We will pick you up at your hotel and begin our journey by road to Mollepata, where you will enjoy breakfast. Then, we will continue on a dirt road until we reach the town of Soraypampa. From there, we will begin a hike of about an hour and a half until we reach the beautiful Humantay Lagoon, which is located at an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level. You will have time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and take pictures. This tour has a medium level of difficulty and requires an acceptable level of fitness.

After visiting Humantay, we will descend to Soraypampa to take our vehicle that will take us back to the town of Mollepata, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch. Then, we will continue our trip back to the city of Cusco, where we will arrive around 6:00 pm. We will spend the night in Cusco.

Mountain of Colors Vinicunca

At 04:30 am, we will pick you up at your hotel to begin a road trip to the town of Cusipata. Then, we will continue on a paved road until we reach the town of Paucarpata, where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast. From there, you will continue to Qomer Qocha, where you will prepare for the hike to the Colored Mountain (Vinicunca). The hike lasts approximately 1 hour with a medium level of difficulty, so a good physical condition is required. The Montaña de Colores is located at an altitude of 5,200 meters above sea level, and once there, you will have time to take spectacular pictures.

After visiting the mountain, you will return to Qomer Qocha and board our vehicle, which will take you to a restaurant to enjoy lunch. After a short rest, you will return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:30 pm. Overnight in Cusco.

Cusco and Return

At the agreed time, we will transfer you to the Cusco Airport for your return flight. This marks the end of our services, and we hope you have enjoyed this unforgettable trip and have a good trip back!
